The latest edition of KEY – The Energy Transition Expo has just come to an end, and once again it proved to be one of the most important meeting points for professionals working in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
This year, Northern Power Systems was proud to participate with its own stand at the Rimini Expo Center, where we had the opportunity to meet partners, clients and new contacts from across the energy sector. Over the course of the exhibition, our team engaged in many valuable conversations about ongoing projects, future collaborations and the evolving landscape of renewable energy.
Events like KEY – The Energy Transition Expo are not only a showcase for technologies, but also an essential opportunity for dialogue and networking within the industry.
The Most Important Energy Transition Event in the Mediterranean Region
KEY – The Energy Transition Expo is widely recognized as the most important European event dedicated to technologies, services and integrated solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy in Italy and across the Mediterranean basin.
The 2026 edition confirmed the growing relevance of the exhibition. The event occupied all the pavilions of the Rimini fairgrounds, demonstrating the rapid expansion of the energy transition market.
Key numbers from this year’s event highlight the scale of the exhibition:
- 125,000 gross square meters of exhibition space
- 24 exhibition halls fully occupied
- More than 1,000 exhibiting brands, including 320 international companies
- Innovative products, solutions and technologies across the seven sectors of the energy transition
Attendance also increased significantly:
- Total attendance grew by 10%
- International attendance increased by 9%
- Strong participation from investors and industry stakeholders
The exhibition also hosted 530 international buyers and delegations from 59 countries, thanks to the support of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). In addition, 412 accredited journalists from around the world attended the event.
These figures clearly confirm a broader trend: the renewable energy market is expanding rapidly, with increasing investments and growing global attention toward the technologies driving the energy transition.

Throughout the exhibition, the Northern Power Systems stand became a meeting point for discussions about renewable energy projects and innovative solutions.
We were very pleased to welcome a large number of visitors, including long-standing partners, clients and many new contacts interested in learning more about our technologies and applications.
Participating in KEY – The Energy Transition Expo allows us not only to present our solutions, but also to exchange ideas, analyze market trends and explore new opportunities within the evolving energy landscape.

One of the Main Trends: Industrial BESS and Energy Storage
Among the many innovations showcased during KEY – The Energy Transition Expo, one of the most prominent trends was the growing importance of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), particularly in industrial and utility-scale applications.
Energy storage technologies are becoming an increasingly strategic component of the energy transition, enabling greater flexibility, improved grid stability and better integration of renewable energy sources.
For Northern Power Systems, this is a particularly interesting area of development. We are actively exploring the integration of battery energy storage systems with our wind and photovoltaic solutions, with the aim of creating more efficient and reliable renewable energy systems.
We are excited about the potential of these technologies and look forward to presenting new applications and developments in the near future.
